Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Chandra is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, having completed her Masters of Science in Nursing at Yale University, specializing in both Adult Primary Care and Behavioral Health. Chandra has extensive expertise in the treatment of psychiatric conditions, including: both prescribing and monitoring medications, providing 1:1 private psychiatric nursing shifts, and providing individual and group psychotherapy.
Chandra is nationally board certified in Behavioral Health by the ANCC. Chandra started her career working with at-risk youth where she specialized in the treatment of PTSD as well as substance abuse and mood disorders. She then took a position as the Behavioral Health Director at Community Health Center, in New Britain, Connecticut. There she committed to work on developing an integrated model to behavioral health treatment in a primary care setting. While at the Community Health Center, New Britain, Chandra enjoyed teaching both nursing students and psychiatric residents and participating in research focused on outcomes of an integrated approach to health care.
